PR & Communications Director

About the role

As our PR & Communications Director, you will develop and execute the PR & communications strategy for the Village. You will ensure the optimal positioning of the Village in local and international media, focusing on communication of the right image and message to the general consumer market, the press community, tourism professionals, etc.

 

Key responsibilities

The key responsibilities of this role will include some or all the following.

 

PR & Communications Strategy

• Define the local, national and international PR & communications strategy and roadmap for the Village

• Develop and elaborate quantitative and qualitative PR & communications related objectives and KPIs to

ensure that the strategy is in line with the business’ direction and aims at driving footfall and sales

• Develop and executive an effective international communication with all departments throughout the

business on the Village’s PR positioning and voice of tone

• Obtain up-to-date market information and analyse it regularly to understand the market trends,

consumer behaviours, impact of promotional offers and special event, etc.

• Shape the direction and creative advertising editorials or partnership with the Marketing Director

to ensure the positioning of the Village is correct

• Manage the PR & communications budget; reforecast when necessary

 

PR Issues & Press

• Manage external consultants on all PR issues including event planning and organization

• Brief and work with PR agencies to obtain well-placed, high quality editorial coverage in targeted press

and media

• Play an active role in the delivery of the concept and the image of the Village to the local press and media

• Oversee the production and promotion of all Village press tools

• Create a national journalist database

 

Identifying Opportunities & Partnerships

• Identify opportunities to enhance village positioning, targeting new audiences

• Manage the relationship with the British Fashion Council, art institutions or other organisations relating

to driving the premium brand positioning of the Village

• Develop relationships with key influencers and opinion formers to identify opportunities to drive the

VIP outreach programme

• Work with brands within the village and pop-up brands to maximise PR opportunities

Work with the team to develop press events to promote the Village and oversee the production &

promotion of these events

• Work with Senior Marketing Manager on charity products and opportunities to the Village

• Sense check appropriateness of charity events and charity auction prizes involving the Apartment

 

General

• Oversee the general PR calendar and briefings

Lead the PR & Communications team and be responsible for the team’s performance and development

 

About You

We are looking for an individual who can display the following experience and skills:

• Degree education in Marketing or Marketing communications or equivalent qualifications is preferrable

• Proven experience in a similar role, in-house or agency environment, with extensive exposure on retail marketing, brand building and consumer events

• Computer literate and high proficiency in Microsoft Office

• Proven success working with press and media partners

• First-class background in corporate communications

• Knowledge of B2B service industry is desirable

• Good understanding of digital marketing and general digital trends

• Good project management and coordination skills

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Exceptional relationship building and management skills

• Able to work well with all levels across the business

• Demonstrate positivity and creativity under pressure

• Ability to prioritise your work to meet tight and multiple deadlines

• Fluent in English and local Village language, any other European language would be beneficial
